The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has completed the Design, Build of its 295,000-square-foot outpatient health-care center in Charlotte, North Carolina.  The Development and Construction team charged to this massive undertaking was Childress Klein of Charlotte and its teaming partners, Cambridge Development Group of Vienna, Virginia. Together, the two organizations formed Childress Klein-Cambridge Healthcare Solutions to design, build and provide facility management for the Veterans Affairs Administration.

The $104 Million dollar, six-story building, was constructed on a 35-acre parcel at West Tyvola Road and Cascade Pointe Boulevard and met its targeted opening date of 1 April, 2016.

The center is part of the Salisbury VA Health Care System, which includes the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center and community-based outpatient clinics in Charlotte’s University area, Hickory and Winston-Salem.

EPIC Paradigms Group’s contribution to the successful completion of this construction project was as a subcontractor to BlackBox Network Services and entailed the cabling, communications patching and installation of the 1,200 Hospital NEC SV 9500 and UM8700 Multi-line telephones designated for the staff and administration.  This, among others, will ensure the early success of the facility as it begins to serve the thousands of Veterans in the Charlotte area.

EPIC was proud to be able to serve on such a noteworthy project that affords the Hospital’s Veterans with state-of-the-art medical care while allowing them to be closer to home.  The health center will also offer out-patient primary care and specialty services such as cardiology, neurology, dental and oncology.
